Roundup of Green Books for Kids
Here’s our Top 10 roundup of green books for your kids about how to love our planet. Bonus if you can get these through friends or a book swap (sadly, many libraries are closed these days).

1.) The Earth Book by Todd Parr.Parr’s eco-friendly book uses color, fun, and whimsy to show children the importance of and ways to care for our Earth.

2.) The Peace Book by Todd Parr.This book by Parr shows children different fun ways they can express peace in their lives.

3.) The Curious Garden by Peter Brown. A boy discovers a garden and decides to care for it, bringing green back into his colorless city.

4.) Curious George Plants a Tree by Margret & H.A. Rey. In Curious George Plants a Tree, the classic children’s character Curious George plants trees to help the museum’s Green Day initiative, and gets into mischief on the way.

5.) The Earth and I by Frank Asch. Asch’s book tells the story of a boy who refers to the earth as his friend, and shows children the importance of having a relationship with the earth.

6.) Compost Stew: An A to Z Recipe for the Earth by Mary McKenna Siddals. Siddals’s book teaches kids new and fun ways to compost.

7.) Olivia’s Birds: Saving the Gulf by Olivia Bouler. Eleven year old Olivia Bouler wrote the Audubon society to express concerns for the Gulf after the oil spill. Audubon then published her books with her artwork and raised over $175,000 for cleanup of the spill.
